PENTATHLON

Comprised of five events in one, the Pentathlon is a unique and physically demanding challenge.

High Jump - Shot Put - 100M - 300M Hurdles - 800m

In a normal track and field meet, athletes are limited to four events over the weekend. Most athletes excel at one discipline (i.e. running, jumping, or throwing). By competing in multiple events over multiple disciplines, athletes are pushed to their limits and challenged in their ability.

Times and distances have associated points assigned down to the second and inch. After an event is finished, a scoring matrix is used to add up the points for each athlete. At the end of all five events, the athlete with the highest cumulative score is the winner.

Athlete Selection Process

Just as the Pentathlon is designed to find the best overall athlete, our goal is to find the best overall students to compete. The best twelve. Every school nominates one male and one female athlete that they want to have compete. During the selection process, the student’s physical ability, academic GPA, community service, and sportsmanship history are all reviewed to find the most well-rounded individuals.

Pentathlon Nomination

Six girls and six boys will compete in the High Jump, Shot Put, 100M, 300MH, and 800M. This has become one of the highlight events so don’t miss out on the opportunity to nominate your athletes.

Applications are now closed for 2024.
